Getting to Cannes

Wednesday, 22 February 2023

Getting from Nice airport to Cannes has never been easier but things have changed slightly since we’ve all been away. So if you want to refresh your memory here are some updated instructions

There are a number of options taxi, bus, train, drive or helicopter?

Taxi

If you plan to go by taxi we would suggest booking in advance with VTC Nice, however you can also get an uber as soon as you’ve collected your luggage or hop into a taxi outside Nice Airport.

An uber usually costs around €50 – €60 but during busier times will be surcharging or hard to find and jumping in a taxi can cost between €85 – €150. The journey will take about 30-45 minutes.

If you’re heading out for a conference we’d recommend prebooking your transfer with Murad and his team. If you email them at zzzvtcnice@gmail.com with the below information they will look after you.

  • Name of Lead Passenger
  • No of Passengers
  • Company Name
  • Mobile Number of Lead Passenger
  • Date and Day of Arrival
  • Flight Number
  • Time of Arrival at Airport
  • Destination Address

The cost for Jamel’s private taxi transfers are:

1 – 3 pax car – €95
4 – 6 pax people carrier – €130
Multiple drop off – €10 per address.

Bus

Taking the bus is very easy, reasonable and only takes 45minutes. You would need to take the Nice Airport Xpress bus – No 81niceairportxpress.com

The Bus leaves from Nice Airport Terminal 2 to Cannes Train Station – NB The bus no longer operates from Terminal 1.

The first bus departs at 08:00 and runs at 45 min intervals thereafter, the last bus leaves the airport at 21:00.

If your landing at Terminal 1 – Turn left out of the arrivals’ hall, once outside you will see the Tram stop on the right. Cross the Tram lines to the other side and take any Tram to Terminal 2 – this takes 4 mins.

Tram Stop Outside Terminal 1

Landing at Terminal 2 – Once outside, cross the road and bear right, the bus departs from Quai (Bus Stop) 2.

Safe Bag - Ticket Shop
Ticket office inside Terminal 2

You can buy a ticket – Either online or at BOUTIQUE SAFE BAG – you can find this just inside the arrivals’ hall of Terminal 2 – to the left as you are coming out of arrivals.

You can also pay by cash on the bus.

Heading Back to Nice

When taking the bus from Cannes Train Station (Gare De Cannes) to Nice Airport Terminal 2 – The bus stop is directly in front of the Train Station, as you look at the Station it’s the far left-hand bus stop.

Cannes Bus Stop

The first bus leaves the station at 07:00, then departing at 45 minute intervals thereafter until the last bus departs at 19:45.

A single journey (no return tickets possible) costs 19€ if purchased from the ticket office or online or 19.40€ if purchased on board the bus.

Train

Take Tram No.2 or 3 from the airport to the Grand Arénas station (which is free from the airport to the Train Station) It is a short walk to Nice St Agustin Station. From here you can get a train into Cannes. Tickets cost from 6.70€ depending on the day.

Landing at Terminal 1 – Turn left out of arrivals’ hall and the Tram is outside on your right. Take the platform closest to you heading right.

Landing at Terminal 2 – Turn right out of arrivals and the Tram is in front of you between Exits A2/A3 – Tram heads right.

Driving

It takes approx. 30 minutes – depending on traffic, allow more at peak hours – along the A8 Autoroute. Remember, parking in Cannes is at a premium, and often difficult to find. We suggest looking at the Parking Pantiero by the Old Port or Parking Lamy off rue d’Antibes.

Helicopter

There are a number of helicopter companies that offer private transfers.

This is by far the quickest way to transfer – Fight time is approximately 10-15 mins

A few examples that offer this service are

Prices vary depending on number of passengers, luggage etc., we suggest to contact them directly for a quote. Don’t forget to take loads of pictures and send them to us!
